Autumn Ride - Sunday, 2nd September 2018 - Starting from Shrubland Sawmill, Old Hall Estate Click here for Sponsorship/Entry Form
A total of £783.00 was raised for Street Forge Workshops, Thornham. Click on the following links to see their thank you letter and photo of our committee members presenting the cheque to Manager, Claire Keeble.
Congratulations to Beverley Snowball who was awarded the cup for the highest amount raised by a rider. We also had a visit to the ride by Lynne Mortimer, journalist from the East Anglian Daily Times. Some of you may have read her articles, particularly her very amusing Monday page, and also heard her regular comment slots on Radio Suffolk. She came to write an article about the history of the IHS and how we have donated over £100,000 to local charities. Lynne spent a while with us, chatting to riders and taking photos.
Chris Doyle, photographer, took some lovely photos of the riders, which can be viewed by logging on to www.chrisdoylephotos.co.uk. These are available to purchase and Chris will generously donate some of the proceeds to the charity.
Finally, Wendy Simmons, our committee member who normally keeps our website updated, is unfortunately in hospital after a fall from her horse a few days before the ride, and she will be out of action for a little while. We wish her a speedy recovery. We would like to thank Jean Timms for stepping in to put this report on our website.
Thank you to everyone for helping to raise £1,347.00 for the EA Air Ambulance this year - to see their letter of appreciation please click here.
Spring Ride - Sunday, 3rd June 2018 - Starting from Winston Hall, near Debenham

What a fabulous day we all had with riders enjoying stunning weather with perfect going thanks to a few rain showers earlier in the week. The extra parking was much appreciated, with two large paddocks having been topped and prepared especially for us.
Once again some newly added tracks proved extremely popular and, thanks to the generosity of a local farmer, who gave permission for us to use his lovely wide and mown headland, riders were able to miss out the stretch of road through Ashfield cum Thorpe.
As usual the ride started from Winston Hall, near Debenham taking riders along approximately 11 miles of stunning tracks and farmland, with a shorter route available as in previous years.
Over £600 was raised for the EA Air Ambulance and congratulations go to Tracey Cutting for winning The Ipswich Horse Society Cup for the highest sponsorship raised (£90).
Chris Doyle was our photographer on the day and as usual took some great pictures. Images can be viewed (and purchased - see below for price list) via Chris's website www.chrisdoylephotos.co.uk .
Chris will be generously donating half of all picture money received to our chosen charity.

Spring Show, Trinity Park, - Monday, 2 April, 2018 Proceeds donated to EA Air Ambulance.
Despite the slightly less than perfect weather on the day competitors found the well drained soil had made the going exceptionally good. Once again a huge thank you must go out to all volunteers and competitors for their invaluable support. A full show report and acknowledgements will follow shortly but in the meantime please click here for the day's Results. Also, congratulations to Rhiannon Markwell who was the lucky winner of our goodie bucket.
Thanks also to Chris Doyle Photography for some great images which can be viewed and purchased direct via Chris's website. Prices and purchase details are as follows:
This year saw a very successful and busy Easter Monday show with good weather and well supported classes raising over £1,500.00. Click here for the post show report. A big thank you to all volunteers and competitors who helped make it a great day for everyone. A selection of images can be found via the following link - kindly taken by Robert Jones Ipswich Horse Society Show 2017. It was also lovely to see quite a few new faces having such an enjoyable and successful day, like Harry Booty who was attending his first show riding his veteran pony Star. A special "well done" to you all.
Spring Ride - Sunday, 4th June, 2017
For this year's sponsored ride nearly 50 riders enjoyed stunning weather, with the newly added tracks and bridleways proving extremely popular. Starting from Winston Hall, near Debenham the route took riders along approximately 12 miles of stunning tracks and farmland, with a shorter route available as in previous years. Over £750 was raised, which will be donated to The Bumblebee Children's Charity, based locally at Sproughton. Congratulations go to Briony Shave, one of the youngest riders to take part, for winning The Ipswich Horse Society Cup for the highest sponsorship raised. Chris Doyle was our photographer on the day and images can be viewed (and purchased if required) via Chris's website www.chrisdoylephotos.co.uk . Chris will be generously donating half of all picture money received to our chosen charity. We would also like to say a big THANK YOU to our kind and generous hosts, Bill and Margaret James for all their help with the ride and for allowing us the use of their land once again this year.

The weather and ground could not have been better for this year's Autumn ride, with nearly 80 riders of all abilities enjoying unique access through the stunning grounds of the Old Hall Estate, Barham (formerly part of the Shrubland Estate) and the neighbouring land. A full report on the day will be published shortly. Once again, Chris Doyle was our photographer on the day and images can be viewed (and purchased if required) via Chris's website www.chrisdoylephotos.co.uk . We would also like to say a big THANK YOU to the Old Hall Estate and local landowners for allowing us the use of their land once again this year. This year our nominated charity was Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS). We are now delighted to report that the total figure raised was £1,579.00 - well done to everyone (human and equine!).
